Listen - Lana Del Rey - "Born To Die (Kyle Rapps & Diwon Remix) by Diamond Media 360 on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

Media darling Lana Del Rey undergoes a facelift to her exalted album titled single "Born To Die," by the emcee/producer duo of Kyle Rapps and Diwon.

Originally consisting of haunting string quartets and weighty percussion, Diwon's production overhaul adds a sampled violin progression coupled with a "golden era" influenced drum track.

Lyrically, Rapps takes a walk on the wild side with verses that detail both his drive towards success while confronting a past checkered by substance abuse. "Rap was criminal music before it got pretentious, son I'm not a profit, I just like to drop a gem inside a sentence."

Miss Kenge shows off her Female Swag | @MisssKENGE

Act Like a Model, Think Like a Business.

In case you thought the book and film “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man” was bat shi# crazy and full of it here’s another dose of proof. Miss Kenge is more than a pretty face and figure eight curves. She’s a fitness/health consultant , party planner, and everything you need for your event or video. She can even teach the ladies how to use their “Female Swag" and give us a few ideas for our next party. All she said was Playboy Models, swings from the ceiling, and we were hooked. Enjoy

Interview for Hasan Johnson (Creator, Owner - Ha Candy Digital )
Interview by T.Mill
http://www.tmillradio.com
tmill@hacandy.com

Ha Candy - Welcome to Ha Candy, how are you?
Miss Kenge - I’m blessed, for real! I can’t complain I’m loving life right now, and everything in it.

Ha Candy - There's tons of girls out there who come up with all types of excuses for weight loss. Share your story & thoughts and maybe they'll get up and make it happen.
Miss Kenge - Excuses … ooowww, No you didn’t !!! Well I don’t have an excuse for weight loss. I’m a thick chick and proud of it. However, a girl do gotta have tummy control and cellulite in check. But for real, I do have a weight loss plan and it consists of HCG for 40 days and 1 hour of cardio (constant incline) 5 days a week. Plus I work hard and am very determined. Any other secrets, and you gon have to pay for those.
Ha Candy - We've been looking for a partner in our money hustles, what
schemes do you have in mind?
Miss Kenge - Hmmm …that’s easy. No matter what people are going through people love to party. So I’ll sell the party along with the magazine. I’ll have some of the dopest females promote the party because ladies make the party. Will take it all over the world, t-shirts, dvd’s, key chains, hell… even bumper stickers. The key is to sell the brand; make it fun. That’s how you get money.

Ha Candy - If money could buy love (in some countries it does), but if it could buy love, how much would you spend?
Miss Kenge - OH NO, LOVE IS PRICELESS … POINT BLANK PERIOD!

Ha Candy - Our next party is down in Vegas at the Cathouse, in the Luxor. Can you help us pull off an unforgettable crazy sexy cool night?
Miss Kenge - Hell yeah … See that night would be special. It’d be like walking in heaven wit a little bit of freakiness. All white everything (We are throwing a crazy, sexy, cool party). I’d have the Victoria Secret Models serving drinks, wit da Playboy Bunnies on swings hanging from the ceiling … something you ain’t never seen! I might even have a white lion, LOL … hosted by the cast of the Hangover. NOW DATS A PARTY!

Ha Candy - Dare we ask, what is female swag?
Miss Kenge - Female Swag comes from within. You gotta be born with it. I’m all about UPLIFTING Women; FEMALE EMPOWERMENT … POWER TO THE P … (Ladies you feel me)!

Ha Candy - How will a woman know if she got swag or none at all?
Miss Kenge - Once again swag is something you born with. You’ll know if you got it if this quote pertains to you “Can’t be a follower always a trendsetter.”

Ha Candy - Tell us about ID Confirmed
Miss Kenge - ID Confirmed is a company that I got so much love for, they my family. But with my people it’s all about 1204 promotions: TEAM KENGE! That’s what we on, that’s what we about, I can’t see past that right now.

Ha Candy - The 411 Dating Game, what is that?
Miss Kenge - It’s a dating game that I can’t say I came up with, but that I brought new life to in my city, my area, my region. It’s more less a spinoff of the old 80’s dating game. 3 contestants 1 bachelor/bachlorette all vying to win a date with the bachelor/bachelorette. We go through rounds, have laughs with drinks and …VOILA!!!
Ha Candy - Any other hidden talents?
Miss Kenge - I’m very persuasive, sort of sneaky, you can even call it cunning, but in a good way LOL. Let’s just say my secret talent is getting what I want when I want it.
Ha Candy - We welcome any challenge, but our ladies would love to know how to swindle the fellas.
Miss Kenge - Okay sessions in, report to question 6. You gotta have swag and that’s something that comes from within. A man is naturally attracted to a woman, so you do what you do to get what you want … THEY DO!

Ha Candy - If your lover were a piece of candy what would he/she be?
Miss Kenge - First of all a HE … would be a Lifesaver. 1st cause he’d have my back, 2nd because they taste so good, and 3rd cause it lasts, Oh…does it last!

Ha Candy - What candy describes you best?
Miss Kenge - Sour Patch Kids – I’m really sweet, but can be sour, but once you get to the inside I’m really soft and mushy.

Ha Candy - Any shout outs?
Miss Kenge - Shout out to all my fans and supporters and everybody that’s rockin with Team Kenge. Anybody that shows luv, trust and believe will get it back. Of course 1204 Promotions and Mr.1204, Detroit Cake Mixx and my homeboy Duncan Hines.

Ha Candy - Thanks for hanging out with us.
Miss Kenge - No problem it’s been fun, it’s been real, and I got to be myself!

Ha Candy - Tell us about Wonton International

Hideko - Wonton International offers many services includes, booking, management, PR, event coordination and marketing.

Ha Candy - How does one "book" an act? And whats the biggest mistake people make when booking?

Hideko - Patience and carefully reading all contents in the contract is a must. Ask as many questions as possible BEFORE signing, not after.

Ha Candy - You manage artists too?

Hideko - Yes.

Ha Candy - Tell us what you do as a manager

Hideko - Management role do cross over with my booking role but definitely gives me more diverse angle to push the artist I manage( Promotion, Booking, Media appearances, Radio shows, etc )  than for my booking clients.

Ha Candy - Tell us about the artists you manage.

Hideko - I manage underground artists and currently getting 40+ offers from more underground artists, producers and deejays who blesses me with their patience to get back to them after going through received datas one by one and their faith in my abilities to help with their career.

Ha Candy - What other skills and talents do you possess?

Hideko - I write poems and short stories. I'm a terrible dreamer so I write real life experiences and my thoughts and feelings, nothing made up.

Ha Candy - How did you get down with Diplomats, Zulu Nation, D-Block, Wu Tang Clan & other note worthy clients?

Hideko - I grew up with one of a Zulu nation members and I was helping them sell tickets and that's how I started to take that into my side hustle. Later time I got an opportunity to throw an event in Tokyo with Zulu nation Japan's prez back in 2003 or so and that's when I really started to get into this industry seriously.

Ha Candy - At the end of the day, what do you want us to remember about Hideko Bartell-

Hideko - I'm a female in a male dominated industry. It's hard to get your job done without dealing with headaches and unneccessary ego issues, so I go twice as hard on them, I stand strong with my chin up and show that I put my pride into what I do and I do it good. In the end they should always remember me being genuine and hard working.

Ha Candy - What's been the craziest moment of your career so far?

Hideko - Please don't ask about the craziest because when I say crazy, it's really crazy and you can imagine how crazy things can go with major artists and their groupies up in the VIP with some liquor passing around ;-)

Ha Candy - How can other women follow in your footsteps of success?

Hideko - There's no short cuts. If you must show and prove your talents and skills, you must prove them in your work. Keep it moving and always believe in yourself even when the time is so tough.

Ha Candy - After all the hard work, how do you play & spend your free time?

Hideko - Catch up with my friends and family, cooking huge dinner for them and spend some chill time together....if not, then just catch up on a good sleep or fly to FL and hang around the beach.

Ha Candy - When it comes to dating are men intimidated by your position and clientele?

Hideko - Many of them are. I pay no attention to them though because before my career or my title they should be looking at the person I am on the inside anyway.

Ha Candy - Any shout outs?

Hideko - I'd like to seriously show my genuine and honest appreciation to my best friend and business mentor, Easy Mo bee for always be there and give me so much positive advice and motivation to stay in this game. Without his strong words I may not be here today. In his world there's no giving up. I'm following right behind him.

Jhene Aiko

Jhene Aiko

This “Little Loved one” is derived from a paradise , the Garden of Eden. Well at least her name is. Jhene Aiko representing Los Angeles California  is addicted to life and will never stop capturing her dreams and expressing her imagination.

It's hard to believe someone with so much courage now, used to have low self esteem. As many cookie cutters we find now days, I can assure you nobody can duplicate what she delivers, Jhene Aiko is on “The Come Up.

Ha Candy: Welcome Jhene Aiko to The Come Up. Is there a story behind your name? Its very original & captivating.
Jhene Aiko: Thanks for having me! Jhené Aiko is actually my birth given name; my first and middle name. My first name, Jhené is derived from the Ethiopian name Ghenet which means "Paradise" or "Garden of Eden" and My middle name Aiko is Japanese and means "little loved one"

Ha Candy: What city are you representing & what do you remember most growing up?
Jhene Aiko: The city I'm representing is Los Angeles, California. I've lived here my whole life and grew up in a neighborhood me and my close friends like to call "Slauson Hills." Some of my favorite memories of growing up in L.A are of me and my brothers and cousins spending summers at my grandmothers house, Ladera Park, Dockweiler Beach and my Elementary school Baldwin Hills Elementary.

Ha Candy: Your style & approach to music is very raw yet eloquent, how did it all begin?
Jhene Aiko: Thank you so much! I think my style reflects who I am as a person. I'm all about being free and going with the flow as well as being honest with myself and my feelings. I grew up in a large, multicultural family so as a child I was exposed to a lot of different ways of living , belief systems and points of view. I think that all of that is shown in my style of both music and clothing, as well as everything else I do. I'm also really into being comfortable and being myself at all times so my style is a direct reflection of that also.

Ha Candy: How much of Sailing Souls is personal experience?
Jhene Aiko: Well, I wrote every song off of Sailing Souls except for "July" which was written by Micah Powell. So excluding July, Sailing Souls is 100% personal experience and feeling.

Ha Candy: Can you share the story behind one of the songs?
Jhene Aiko: Sure! Stranger , which was one of the first songs I recorded for "Sailing Souls" was actually inspired by a tweet. I tweeted something along the lines of "same strangers" and Mac (1/2 of the production team "Fisticuffs") brought the tweet to my attention and was like, I saw u tweet something the other day.... I think u should expand on that by writing a song about what u meant by that. it was a light bulb moment. The beat was done from scratch by the Fisticuffs while I wrote it, we vibed off of each other and went back and forth until we had the structure. The song basically wrote itself being that I had just gotten myself out of a situation with a "perfect stranger." Someone I thought I really liked, thought I really knew.... But in all actuality neither of us really knew each other at all.  I realized that he was the same as all the other men i have tried with and in a sense , I was just the same as them; wanting the same thing. So we are all the same strangers, in a sense. Initially, the song was centered around the fact that I was intimate with someone I thought I knew so well, but really didn't. The song took different forms as I wrote it and started to recall different feelings and situations. So there are many layers to this song as with most of my songs, lol .

Ha Candy: There’s lots of great features on this project (Miguel, Drake, Lite, Hope, Roosevelt, Kanye West, & Kendrick) Many aspiring artists would love to know how did you pull it off?
Jhene Aiko: Well a lot of the people I worked with on the mix tape are from Los Angeles and are either people that I am friends with or have mutual friends with. So when I started my project I knew I could count on my fellow Los Angeles natives to help me out. The Drake feature was actually his doing . I had recorded my own version of "July" and he heard it and did his own version , and that's the version I used for "sailing souls". The Kanye collab is actually not a collab at all! Lol. After recording "sailing not selling" I was watching a BET cypher that he was in and his verse fit so well to my song that we went ahead and ripped the audio from that freestyle and put it on my song :) so my advice to aspiring artist is to be resourceful and creative when it comes to features for their mix tapes Lol

Ha Candy: Do you have an embarrassing, or funny story? (Personal or someone else)
Jhene Aiko: I have plenty! But one in particular is when i met Kevin Hart at a popular movie theatre in L.A called "The Grove". This was when he wasn't as popular as he is today and his only movie out was "Paper Soldiers" which happened to be me and my sisters favorite movie at the time! So long story short, I recognized him and ran up to him to tell him that he was my favorite comedian because of that movie. When he asked me what his name was and what movie I was talking about, I didn't know his name or remember the movie title.  He was like, " so I'm your favorite and u don't know my name?! " It was pretty embarrassing , but very funny! Hope to meet him again one day soon! Lol

Ha Candy: What do you look for when collaborating?
Jhene Aiko: I just like to work with people that I vibe well with. I don't like to force things, because then it will sound forced.

Ha Candy: What do you find irresistible in a guy?
Jhene Aiko: I find a guy irresistible when he can keep me laughing and have stimulating conversation often.

Ha Candy: Is it safe to assume you have an extremely humorous side? (Explain how, or what do you find funny)
Jhene Aiko: I'm definitely goofy! Lol, I laugh at practically everything and I'm into different types of humor.  I'm my happiest when I am laughing, so I do it often.

Ha Candy: What’s next for you in 2012?
Jhene Aiko: I'm working on an album, doing a lot more performing and just keeping the ball rolling, going with the flow :)

Ha Candy: Any Shout-outs ?
Jhene Aiko: I want to shout out all of the people that have been supporting me since I was 13 years old as well as all the people that have always had something negative or mean to say about me! I am inspire and fueled by both positive and negative energy. I also want to give a shout out to my management NMG for being such an incredible team, the Fisticuffs for being my musical soul mates and No I.D for believing in the vision

Ha Candy: As of right now with everything you’ve experienced, what advice would you give to other girls?
Jhene Aiko: My advice to other girls is to take everything one day at a time, to be aware in each moment and to understand that their mistakes are to learn from and not to regret. My for other girls is to learn to love yourself before you put any energy into loving anyone else, take the time to figure you out and understand who you truly are .

Ha Candy: When people meet you what surprises them the most?
Jhene Aiko: I am very small! Everyone who meets me always says " I thought u were much taller!" I am only 5'2 , I am only 90 lbs.

Ha Candy: If you could collaborate with 3 people dead or alive who they would be....
Jhene Aiko: Kid Cudi, John Mayer, Tupac Shakur
